To do in Boca Raton
Here is a list of some of our favorite things to do on a Boca Raton getaway.
Relax in pool
Many Boca Raton homes have private pools. Grab a drink, relax, and enjoy the afternoon in the privacy of your own backyard. Ahh, you can swim for hours! No better way to enjoy the Florida weather!
Rent a boat
Don't have to go to far to rent a kayak, a jet ski, motor boat, or even a pontoon. Choose the one that suites you best and go for it! Pack a little bit of sushi and drinks for the boat, lots of sunscreen, and enjoy your boat adventure.
Hit the beach
With great weather, and beautiful water - what can be better then a day at the beach. Catch some waves, swim, and enjoy the scene... It is difficult to find a secluded kosher beach, so do some research and try to find one.
Fun at Boomers!
Located just minutes away, this park will keep kids entertained all day. Go karts, miniature golf, arcades, laser tag, batting cages, and more. After a few days in the sun, you won't mind having some air conditioned fun.
Local Parks
If you have young kids, explore the local parks. Sugar sand park is our favorite; it's a free park, featuring a multi floor climbing gym, playgrounds, splash pad area, indoor science explorium, grassy fields, and more. Other noteworthy parks: Patch Reef Park, Liberty Park, Pines Trail Park & Veterans Park.
Segway Tour
Visit Segway Fort Lauderdale for some Segway fun. Choose from four various tour options: Night tours, nature park tours, yacht & mansion tour, or full city tour. No prior experience necessary - anyone can become a pro within minutes.
Drive a scootcoupe
Head to Fun Rental in Deerfield Beach. They have nice selection of rentals available, but our favorite is the scootcoupe. It's a miniature car for two, and tons of fun. Drive it down Collins Ave, or if you really want to be brave, rent it for the day & drive it all the way home.
Safari experience
Spend a full day at Lion Country Safari. Located approximately 40 minute drive from Boca, it is worth the trip. The main attraction is a drive through safari park, where you drive your own car through the safari. Cool! The park also offers a 600 acre amusement park as well.
Stay Active
Play some tennis and stay active at Veterans Park Community Center. Free park, with tennis courts, basketball courts, walking & biking trails, playground, and a picnic area.
Snorkel
There are numerous options not too far for snorkeling. No prior experience necessary. Just grab your underwater camera, and you're read to go. Enjoy breathtaking views of the sea life, corals, and reefs.
Visit the Alligators
No need to drive far, the alligators are pretty close by. Visit Loxahatchee Everglades Airboat Tours & Rides, just approx. 20 min away. You won't be seeing any alligators when you get back to New York, so this is your chance. And don't worry, they don't bite. Actually, hopefully :)
Indoor play
Take the kids to La-La Land. It's a great indoor playground, offering loads of fun for younger kids. Ball pits, climbing gym, wave slide, rock climbing wall, and much more. With so many different options how to keep busy, it's sure to appeal to everyone.
Pick strawberries
Visit Bedner's Farm in Boynton Beach for a fun day of strawberry, tomato, & pepper picking. They have a petting zoo too. Lots of fun for the little ones. Another option for strawberry picking is Girls Strawberry U-Pick.
Palm Beach Zoo
Drive 30 min north to visit the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society. It's a relatively small zoo, but enough to keep you busy and entertained for some time. And often, the quiet, low key setting, is actually refreshing.
Shop, shop, shop
Visit Town Center at Boca Raton for an indoor-outdoor mall with high end department stores & specialty boutiques. And if you really want to shop, consider driving 35 min to Sawgrass Mills, or 45 min to Aventura Mall.
Butterfly World
Largest butterfly park in the world, housing over 20,000 live butterflies. Kids are sure to love this place, and adults will too. Beautiful botanical gardens to walk around, animal exhibits, and a butterfly laboratory too.
Escape The Room
It's the latest fad, so it's in Boca Raton too. We got many options for escape the room: Coral Springs Escape Room, Try-N-Escape, The Master Escape Room, and many more. We recommend to check Groupon first, you can often get a discount.
Swing Away
Visit Drive Shack in West Palm Beach. It's a beautiful luxurious interactive golf driving range. No need to pick up the balls after you, just swing and swing away. Lots of fun for everyone - no need to have any prior golfing experience.
Japanese Gardens
If you are a nature lover, this is for you. Visit Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens. It's a beautifully manicured park, with lush gardens, trees, and flowers. Stroll around and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Paint
Color Me Mine in Delray Beach offers a walk-in studio for ceramic paintings. Choose from hundreds of options, and start painting. And be prepared - your wife's painting will look much better than yours, but that's ok. Really.
